Easter celebrations at Grevill House
Grevill House in Cheltenham made sure this Easter was a really special one for their residents.
In the run up to Easter a member of the team knitted a very cute bunny and a competition was started to win the bunny, each resident placed their chosen name into a hat and a name was drawn on Good Friday. The bunny was named Christine and was won by Ann who chose the name Christine.
Over the Easter weekend residents enjoyed afternoon tea with hot cross buns and Easter cakes and made the most of the glorious sunshine by sitting outside and having all the doors open onto the garden. The residents really enjoyed being outside and they had a singsong with the residents outside and those sat in the lounge with the door open, it was such an uplifting afternoon for all.
On Easter Saturday there were bible readings, Easter poems were read, residents talked about their Easter memories from over the years and they sang a selection of Easter hymns.
On Easter Sunday residents enjoyed a special Easter roast dinner followed by a box of Easter eggs each which were kindly donated by St James Place Wealth Management in Cirencester. It was a great Easter all round for the residents, the team ensured residents were able to speak to their loved ones and in the run up to Easter the residents had made cards which had been sent to their family and friends.
Simon Storrie, Activities Co-ordinator said “The residents really enjoyed their chocolate eggs and everyone’s mood was really lifted. It was a weekend of fun and laughter”.
