Edwardstow Court celebrate World Food Day
Residents enjoyed food and nibbles from around the world to celebrate World Food Day.
World Food Day was established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organisation, an agency of the United Nations. Since 2014, the popularity of the day has been used to promote the idea of feeding the world and eliminating poverty in rural nations. In recent years, World Food Day has used its annual day of celebration to focus on different aspects of food security and agriculture, including fishing communities, climate change and biodiversity.
This year residents enjoyed making and eating crepes, nachos, onion bhajis and a selection of treats from across Asia. The home also took part in a quiz where they learnt about cultures and cuisines around the world.
World Food Day is a reminder that coming together with friends and family around a well-set table is a privilege that not everyone can enjoy, but is one that everyone should experience.
