Eight-year-old Oscar wins Easter Bunting Competition at Edwardstow Court Easter Fun Day

Edwardstow Court Care Centre, in Stow-on-the-Wold, hosted an Easter fun day for residents, team members, friends, families and local children. During the event, local schoolboy Oscar was announced as the home’s Easter Bunting Competition winner.
Over thirty guests attended – from children as young as two to grandparents and residents in their eighties. Several animals from The Good Day Farm on Tour also joined the Easter-themed celebration at the care home.
Guests enjoyed biscuit decorating, garden games and homemade Easter treats. They also followed an Easter Trail through the home’s very own Woodland Walk.
Eight-year-old Oscar, from Stow Primary School, was chosen as the winner of Edwardstow Court’s Bunting Competition by those attending the fun day. Oscar and two runners-up each received Easter goody bags.
The home proudly displayed over 100 entries, which came from children at Stow Primary School, Stow Youth Centre, and children related to team members and residents.
Residents and guests particularly enjoyed meeting the farm animals, which included lambs, pigs and chicks. One resident shared that it reminded them of their days working on a cattle farm.

Matthew Peach, Home Manager, said: “It was a wonderful Easter fun day for all. It's important for us and our residents that we are part of the community, and these intergenerational events demonstrate that. We were amazed to have so many bunting competition entries – thank you to everyone who took part. And congratulations to Oscar!”

The Easter Trail and Word Scramble around the care home’s Woodland Walk will be available until 22 April. Entry forms are available from the care home’s reception. After that date, the Woodland Walk will remain open to the general public – contact reception for free admittance.
