Employees at Wiltshire care homes celebrated in Trust Awards
Several team members at Wiltshire care homes have been chosen at winners in OSJCT Employee Awards 2021. The Trust, which employs over 4,800 staff across six counties including Wiltshire, held local presentations and celebrations, as well as an online ceremony co-ordinated by operations centre, to announce winners and congratulate those with special commendations.
The Employee Awards, which have taken place for more than 20 years, are given out to winners of Shining Star and Hidden Hero categories, to employees with over 20 years of long service and to those who achieved qualifications in the last year. A select number of employees who received a Chairman's Commendations Award for Meritorious Service were also honoured at the events.
The Trust also awarded a new Ferrers Innovation Award to Rebbeca Deacon, a Night Carer at Athelstan House, Malmesbury, who developed an individualised activities programme in the home’s dementia unit, to help promote more settled times for residents, ensuring they are as relaxed as they can be in the evenings and ready for a restful night.

These awards take place so that the Trust can show our gratitude to colleagues who together provide an essential service to our communities. And this year more than any other our gratitude will be echoed by a whole nation who now appreciate what they do and stand in unanimous appreciation for their bravery and commitment. This moment is a good one to reflect on where we might be without the tremendous social care workers that we are recognising today.”
