Fab-brew-lous cafe opens at Brookside in Melksham
Residents, families and the Brookside team are so grateful for the generosity shown by volunteer, Tara, in creating their new coffee shop space.
The Brookside team recently celebrated the official opening of its newly refurbished café. This inviting space, crafted with love and dedication by local resident Tara, offers a cosy atmosphere for residents to enjoy special moments with their families and indulge in reminiscence activities.
Tara's volunteer efforts and creativity shone through as she transformed the café using finds from local charity shops and generous donations from the community, including vintage tea sets and crockery. Her passion for creating a welcoming environment has truly enriched the lives of the care home residents and their families.
Brookside resident, Ron, cut the ribbon with CEO Dan Hayes to declare the café officially open.
Home Manager, Dawn said, "We are immensely grateful for the overwhelming support from our community. The opening of our new café reflects the strong bonds and generosity of our community and we’re grateful for the continued support. Everything we do here is for the benefit of our residents and they’ll be able to enjoy the space for a long time to come.”
The newly opened café promises to be a hive of chatter and companionship, where residents can create lasting memories with their loved ones. The team at Brookside is now looking ahead to their next project, which will be a “pamper parlour” offering treatments such a manicures and hand massages to both female and male residents. If you have any accessories that could add to the atmosphere of the space, please do get in touch with the Brookside team on 01225 706695.
