Foxby Court's New Years Resolutions
As 2024 has come to an end, the team and residents at Foxby Court reflected on everything that they achieved last year and created a list of personal resolutions to make the year ahead even better.
Among the many resolutions shared, there are some humbling ones, amusing ones and inspiring ones from the residents listed below.
"My New Year’s resolution is to swear less," Alan said with a sheepish smile. Known for his colourful expressions, Alan’s goal brought laughter and encouragement from his fellow residents.
Jim’s resolution was heartfelt and straightforward. "I just want to see another Christmas," he said, his words reminding everyone to cherish the moments ahead.
Mo had a challenging goal in mind. "I want to quit smoking,", this received a round of applause for their courage to take on such a significant change.
Kai’s resolution brought smiles all around. "I want to make it to my 90th," he said, his determination serving as inspiration to those around him.
Dawn, however, had a very different approach to the new year. "I never want to change," she declared with a laugh, earning cheers for her unapologetic embrace of who she is.
Both Nancy’s shared a similar goal. "We want to see our families more," they said, their voices full of hope and love for the connections that mean so much to them.
Mary kept her resolution simple yet profound. "I’d like to have another birthday," she said, her gentle words a reminder of the gift of time.
Audrey’s resolution was equally poignant. "I just want to live longer," she said, her determination resonating deeply with everyone listening.
The Foxby Court community admired each other’s honesty and resolve, using these resolutions as inspiration to reflect on their own lives. Whether it’s cutting back on bad language, spending more time with loved ones, or simply appreciating life’s milestones, the spirit of self-improvement has filled the corridors of Foxby Court.
As the residents embark on their 2025 New Year's resolutions, one thing is certain: the residents and staff will be there to support each other every step of the way, proving that at Foxby Court, the start of a new year isn’t just about personal growth but growing together as a family.
