Free day care offer for over 65s at Langford View
Activities Co-ordinator Terri Reeve reading the paper with a resident at Langford View.
Langford View is running a Taster Week for over 65-year-olds, 5 – 9 August, during which they can enjoy a free day of activities and refreshments at the Bicester care home. The Taster Week is promoting this new service which is now available to local residents.
Day care at Langford View will run every weekday, 10am – 4pm. Everyone who attends will be able to enjoy a full day of activities and entertainment as well as a hot lunch and refreshments.
Day care helps to tackle loneliness and offers a chance for family carers to have some free time while their loved one enjoys time in a safe and sociable space. Regular attendees also benefit by making new friends at this friendly home.
During the Taster Week (5 – 9 August) newcomers can try out a day of care for free (usual price £40 per day, sometimes subsidised by the Local Authority), subject to a short care assessment. The Day Centre runs activities every morning and afternoon, such as quizzes, game challenges, baking and bingo. During the Taster Week, featured entertainment will include Move it Monday with Alfie, a Skittles morning, Reminisce with Music, Knit and Natter and Friday afternoon social.
Terri Reeve, Activities Co-ordinator, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming new residents to our newly launched day care service here at Langford View. Day care is a great way for people to come together and make friends, try new hobbies and make new memories.
“We encourage local over 65-year-old residents to come and try out the service with a complimentary place during our Taster Week, 5 – 9 August.”
