Excitement was in full gallop at Fremantle Court Care Home as residents came together to celebrate the iconic Grand National in style.

The home was filled with energy, laughter, and friendly competition as residents embraced the spirit of race day.

Residents enjoyed placing their bets and cheering on their favourite horses, including I Am Maximus, Panic Attack, and Grangeclare West. The event brought a lively atmosphere to the home, with plenty of smiles and shared moments throughout the day.

The celebration held particular significance, as Fremantle Court regularly hosts horse racing-themed activities that have become a firm favourite among residents. The team often transforms the lounges into a vibrant racecourse, complete with a race caller, calling out bets and keeping everyone fully engaged in the action. These much-loved sessions bring the thrill of the races indoors, making the real Grand National event even more meaningful for those who take part.

Staff joined in the festivities, helping to build anticipation and recreate the excitement residents already know and love, while elevating it with the atmosphere of the real race day.

No race day would be complete without a sweet treat, and the home’s horse-themed cupcakes proved to be a standout favourite among residents, adding an extra touch of fun to the occasion.

Deepthi Jose, Home Manager, Fremantle Court Care Home said:

“We are always looking for ways to bring meaningful experiences to our residents. Our regular racing activities are always a highlight, so being able to celebrate the Grand National made the day even more special. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the excitement together.”

The Grand National celebration is just one of many activities organised by Fremantle Court to promote wellbeing, connection, and a vibrant community spirit among residents.
