As part of the fundraising the team at Rodley House completed a 24-hour cycle ride where they cycle a staggering 923 miles in 24 hours! Dawn, their Activities Co-Ordinator cycled for 17 hours and covered 187 of the miles. The local community were really supportive with providing snacks and water and a big thanks to The Card Box and Orchard Stores who sponsored the team.

Rodley House also held a bake sale outside the home where they sold yummy cakes and increased their fundraising total further.

Between the bake sale and the 24-hour static cycle the home raised £1070 plus some extra donations which went directly to Dementia UK. These funds will be split between Dementia UK and residents’ amenities fund.

The residents at Rodley House held a meeting and decided they would like to buy a water feature for the garden with the funds, the home will then have a celebration picnic and cream tea in the garden whilst looking at their lovely new water feature.

Dawn Copeland, Activities Co-Ordinator said, “It was fantastic to raise so much money and for the residents to be able to pick a beautiful water feature which will make our lovely gardens even more peaceful and tranquil”.
