Residents and colleagues at Goodson Lodge came together for a vibrant celebration of Indian Independence Day, enjoying a wonderful day filled with culture, colour, food and dancing.
Our day and night care teams embraced the occasion, dressing up for the celebrations and helping to create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the home.
Food played an important part in the day, with everyone invited to enjoy a delicious selection of Indian delicacies, including tasty samosas and other flavoursome treats. The celebrations continued with Indian music and dancing, bringing residents and colleagues together to enjoy the energy and traditions of the occasion.
Celebrating important cultural occasions such as Indian Independence Day is about much more than having fun. It provides an opportunity to learn from one another, share traditions and celebrate the diversity within our Goodson Lodge community. Recognising the cultures and heritage of our residents and colleagues helps everyone feel valued, respected and included, while opening conversations and creating meaningful connections.
These celebrations also give residents the opportunity to experience different foods, music, clothing and traditions, bringing the wider world into the home and encouraging curiosity, conversation and shared experiences.
It was a joyful day filled with smiles, laughter and togetherness, creating wonderful memories for residents and colleagues alike.
