Residents, families, friends and the local community, including Vera and Isobel pictured above, enjoyed a sunny afternoon of fun at Goodson Lodge’s annual summer fête. 

The event, held in the home’s gardens, featured live music from guitarist James Hogg and accordionist Martin Smith, games, stalls, cakes by Henley Cake Company, and a sizzling BBQ. 

Resident Ken Steadman said: “Organising events like this brings back memories of when I used to organise events in the local community.” 

Alex Damon, Events Manager at Goodson Lodge, added: “Events like our summer fête are so important for our residents – they bring joy, stimulate memories and the senses, and create a real sense of connection. Live music, fun games, and community support all help make the day special.” 

All proceeds from the day went towards the residents’ amenities fund.
