At Goodson Lodge, keeping everyone safe, healthy and well is a priority every day. During Infection Prevention Week, we are taking the opportunity to highlight the simple but important steps we can all take to help prevent the spread of infection and protect one another.

Throughout the home, our team is reinforcing best practice in infection prevention, from regular handwashing and good hygiene to checking and cleaning frequently touched surfaces. Door handles, handrails, light switches and other shared touch points all need regular attention to help maintain a clean and safe environment for our residents, colleagues and visitors.

Small Actions Make a Big Difference

Good infection prevention starts with the everyday habits we practise. Thorough handwashing at key moments, keeping shared areas clean and following good hygiene procedures all play an important role in reducing the risk of infection.

Just as importantly, we are encouraging everyone to be mindful of each other. By following good hygiene practices, being aware of the signs of infection and taking appropriate precautions when feeling unwell, we can all help protect those around us.

Rebecca Pike, Home Manager at Goodson Lodge, said:

Infection prevention is something we take seriously every day at Goodson Lodge. It’s about building good habits, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and remembering that the little things we do can make a big difference to the health and wellbeing of everyone around us. From washing our hands thoroughly to regularly cleaning shared touch points and being mindful of others, we all have a part to play in helping prevent the spread of infection. By working together, we can help keep our residents, colleagues and visitors safe, healthy and well.

Working Together to Keep Goodson Lodge Safe

Infection Prevention Week is a timely reminder that even the smallest actions can have a significant impact. By making hand hygiene, regular cleaning and consideration for others part of our daily routine, we can help reduce the spread of infection and support the health and wellbeing of our Goodson Lodge community.

At Goodson Lodge, infection prevention is a shared responsibility, and we are proud of the role our team plays in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for everyone who lives in, works at or visits our home.

Because at Goodson Lodge, looking after one another is at the heart of everything we do.
