Grace Care Centre Marks Remembrance Day
Our residents and the team at Grace Care Centre paid their respects on Remembrance Day.
In normal circumstances, the residents and team at Grace Care Centre would pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday by attending a local service. However, with the restrictions in place this year, they have had to find other ways to mark the day.
With this in mind, the activities team have worked with the residents to make some brilliant displays in tribute to those who have lost their lives.
The displays incorporated a multitude of poppies that were handmade in the weeks before by the residents. One of these displays can be visible from outside the home and the other has been given pride of place in the café area.
The home also took part in a 2-minute silence along with all other OSJCT homes and the rest of the Country at 11am on the 11th November.
Peter Moore, Home Manager at Grace Care Centre, said: “It was of course a disappointment for everyone associated with Grace Care Centre that we were restricted in the ways we could mark Remembrance Day this year. However, it is testament to our team and residents that they have once again adapted to ensure we mark the occasion in the correct way. These displays are a fantastic tribute.”
