Grace Care Centre Residents and Team Join Street Party for Platinum Jubilee Celebration
The team at the home organised the patriotic event with their neighbours
Grace Care Centre have been celebrating Her Majesty the Queen becoming the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
Teaming up with local neighbours, David and Bee, the home organised a street party for Saturday 4th June.
Ahead of the event, residents enjoyed preparing for the celebration by helping to decorate the street with red, blue, and white colours.
As well as the street party, the home also celebrated with a British afternoon tea and roast dinner over the bank holiday weekend.
In the Autumn, Grace Care Centre will be taking part in The Queen’s Green Canopy which is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The initiative invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”. The tree will be planted at the home in October and will be enjoyed for the next 70 years.
Mel Isherwood, Home Manager at Grace Care Centre, said: “We had the best time celebrating the Platinum Jubilee with our residents, their loved ones, and the local community. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces enjoying the experience of celebrating together. A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the street party and to everyone who took the time out to celebrate with us. I would like to give a special mention to our chef, Raz, and his team who prepared a stunning selection of homemade food!”
