Mark Lacey, from Chipping Norton, is undertaking 82 CrossFit workouts to raise money for OSJCT, who run the Henry Cornish Care Centre where Mark’s grandmother lives. Fundraiser, Mark Lacey was joined on his CrossFit workout this week (Wednesday 28 October) by OSJCT’s new Operations Director, Mike Stredder.
Mark is undertaking 82 workouts, one for each OSJCT home and Extra Care Housing Scheme run by the Care Trust. Former RAF officer, Mark, said: “My Grandmother has been very well looked after by carers and staff at OSJCT, including long before Covid19 came along, so I wanted to do something to say thank you.”
New OSJCT Operations Director, Mike Stredder, joined Mark for a workout to offer support and appreciation for his fundraising efforts. Mike said: “It’s a fantastic boost for our employees and residents to know that Mark is dedicating so much time and effort to fundraise for the home.
“I thoroughly enjoyed our workout. We are very grateful to Mark for fundraising for the Trust and I wish Mark all the best for completing his challenge.”
CrossFit workouts are exercise regimes which involve set numbers of exercises such as press ups, sit ups and burpees at a rapid pace. The CrossFit workout which Mark and Mike followed had been designed by Simon Greenwood, Co-founder of Priority 6 Gym in Abingdon.
Mark expects to complete all 82 workouts by mid-November.
