Residents of Jubilee Lodge have today ‘released’ a flock of flamingo ducks around Bourton-on-the-Water.

Residents and staff have unofficially adopted flamingos as their mascot recently and this “flamingo jail-break” is a chance to start meaningful conversations and reminiscence activities. The flamingos have all been named and numbered by the residents, and the idea is simple; the birds have been left around the village – which attracts huge numbers of tourists every year – with instructions for helping the birds to see the world.

Members of the public will pick up our flamboyant flock and take them to far-flung, and more local, destinations, and leave them for the next person to find. They’ll be encouraged to take a photo and share it on the Jubilee Lodge Facebook page where residents will keep an eye out for flamingo photo updates.

We’re looking forward to seeing how many exciting places our flamingos will travel to, perhaps even abroad! Follow our Facebook page to keep up to date on their progress.
