Grevill House awarded Good CQC rating
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) is pleased to announce that Grevill House in Cheltenham, has been awarded a ‘Good’ rating by the independent regulator of health and social care services in England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Following an inspection in February, Grevill House and Ashley Intermediate Care Centre was assessed as being good across five main areas of its service, including how caring, safe, effective, responsive and well-led the home was.
In a report published in March the inspector commented: “We observed staff treating people in a respectful way, whilst maintaining what was important to people as well as their privacy and dignity. People in the care home were supported to continue doing things they could do independently. We saw people being supported at mealtimes, but staff also used their judgement on when to intervene, allowing people to remain as independent as possible without loss of dignity."
The report praised how well the care home team knew residents, their likes and dislikes as well as their preferences when it came to their care. Residents were also involved in planning their care, as were their relatives and representatives when appropriate.
The report also highlighted that residents were supported by staff who received the training and support necessary to provide safe care and to meet residents’ diverse needs.
Janet Pannell, Assistant Regional Director said: “At Grevill House we’re committed to enhancing and improving the lives of residents in our care. I’d like to thank the team for their continued hard work and commitment which was recognised in the recent CQC report, which rated us as of “good” in all five criteria.”
