Happy Valentine’s Day from OSJCT!
Love is in the air at homes across The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) this Valentine’s Day.
From animal visits to musical events and cocktails to cookies, homes are celebrating Valentine’s Day in a range of ways.
Skirbeck Court in Boston is treating two couples to a special Valentine’s Day lunch, and Lake House in Banbury is hosting a date night for one of its residents and her husband.
Residents at Lake House are also getting the chance to try their hands at cocktail mixing at a Valentine’s Day party and Spencer Court in Woodstock is holding flower arranging sessions to help residents make their own Valentine’s bouquets.
Edwardstow Court in Stow-on-the-Wold is holding a Valentines coffee morning, and residents at Paternoster House in Cirencester will be celebrating at a Valentine’s party. Residents at Grevill House in Charlton Kings will be treated to Valentine’s cakes and cookies as well as a special performance by a guitarist.
At Monkscroft Care Centre in Cheltenham residents will be enjoying love-themed musical entertainment from Rebecca Haselhurst and employees were given Valentine’s sweets from the home manager.
Residents at Henlow Court in Dursley got crafty making Valentine’s gifts, including love bugs. They also reflected on what they thought made a good marriage with “laughter” and “communication and common interests” being among residents’ top tips.
Goodson Lodge in Trowbridge held a Valentine’s quiz yesterday, and Avonbourne Care Centre in Old Sarum is today holding a Love Animals-themed event featuring a visit from ZooLab. Local nursery children will be joining residents for the experience to meet reptiles, creepy crawlies and spiders!
Ashwood Care Centre in Warminster decided to spread some love for Valentine’s Day by raising money for the special charity Louie’s SMILES, which raises funds to buy gifts for children in local hospital wards. The home raised £120 through a coffee morning and an employee dress down day.
Residents at Beckside in North Hykeham created a Valentine’s tree featuring messages from each other. They also made Valentine wreaths, cards and cakes and enjoyed some live musical entertainment.
