Hayward Residents Light Up a Dark Evening with Devizes Winter Festival
As Christmas Day draws closer, residents and the team at Hayward Care Centre in Devizes are reflecting on what’s already been a busy festive season, that started last month.

Residents got involved in the Devizes Winter Festival and made paper lanterns for the parade through the town on Friday 29 November, led by none other than Father Christmas himself! This year’s theme was ‘Home is Where the Heart Is’ and that resonated with everyone at Hayward. We use red and pink tissue paper to decorate heat-shaped lanterns.
The evening also saw the official Christmas lights switch-on, in partnership with the town council.
We had made our lanterns in advance, with each household from our home represented, and we hope our lanterns lit up others’ faces as much as they did ours. They brought us a lot of joy as we made them.
It was a busy night for the residents of Hayward as we went to the pantomime too!
With less than a week to go now, we are looking forward to celebrating Christmas at home at Hayward Care Centre, and to seeing friends and family as they come to visit.
