Residents at Buckland Court and Goodson Lodge are celebrating success in the Virtual Senior Games Wiltshire 2021.
Buckland Court came out overall winners, with Goodson Lodge in second place. The event, organised by Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) took place over the weekend of 6-9 May and involved care homes across the county. Teams of 6 competed in the games, consisting of 4 activities; Tin Can Alley, Foam Javelin Throw, Golf Putting and Target Mat throwing. Each competitor's score counted toward the total for the games, and Buckland Court took Gold as the overall winners.
Buckland Court Home Manager, Sandra Pocock, said: "We're absolutely delighted to be the champions of Wiltshire, and to have Goodson Lodge right behind us! Our residents had such fun taking part and we're grateful to the organisers for putting on an event like this during such unusual times. We'll be back next year to defend our title!"
In the individual events, the team from Buckland Court came first in both Target Mat and Tin Can Alley, with the silver medal spot in Javelin and Golf. Goodson Lodge won the Javelin, came second in Tin Can Alley and third in Golf and Target Mat, giving them the silver medal spot overall.
Congratulations to all the homes and residents who took part!
