Introducing Holly Fletcher, our Head of Care at Chestnut Court
"There is so much I love about working at Chestnut Court."
Holly Fletcher has recently been promoted to Head of Care at Chestnut Court. We thought we would take this opportunity to speak to Holly about her career with The Orders of St John Care Trust and Chestnut Court.
“I started working in care at the age of 19 with another OSJCT home, Trevone House. I remember feeling anxious, but I was very well looked after by staff and management at the home. The positive experience I had working in my very first home with OSJCT only increased the passion I had for care.”
A couple of years later, Holly made the decision to move to Chestnut Court as a Care Assistant. “I wanted to work in a bigger care home. Having been to Chestnut Court on a few occasions for meetings and training days, I knew the staff were very welcoming and delivered a high standard of care for their residents.”
Since then, Holly has continued in her progression at Chestnut Court. Moving from Care Assistant, to Care Leader, to Head of Care – whilst also stepping up as a Dementia Lead for five years. “Building up eight years’ worth of knowledge and experience at OSJCT has been an adventure and I absolutely love it!”
Having had these amazing experiences at Chestnut Court, it is no wonder Holly has such a high opinion of the home. “There is so much I love about working at Chestnut Court. We have an amazing team who support each other everyone is incredibly dedicated to their roles. Our wonderful residents have the most amazing stories to tell, plenty of hilarious jokes and really love you like your own families.”
“There are two particular memories that come to mind. The first is the hen party we held onsite for our Housekeeper, Sarah. Some of the residents had never been to a hen party before and they absolutely loved it. I have never laughed so much in my life! The other is a trip we organised to the local pub a few years ago. It was brilliant to see staff and residents having a great time together.”
