Isis House is delighted to welcome Flo’s Nature Nursery into our home as part of a new and heartwarming intergenerational partnership.

Every fortnight on a Tuesday morning, we are joined by a group of children from Flo's Nature Nursery based in Florence Park, Oxford. The children spend time with our residents enjoying a variety of shared activities such as games, crafting, finger painting, and creative play – all designed to encourage connection and joy across generations.

These visits have quickly become a cherished part of life at Isis House. Our residents truly look forward to seeing the children and value the energy, laughter, and sense of fun they bring with them. In turn, the children are building friendships with our residents and often tell nursery staff how much they enjoy their time here.

Intergenerational activities such as these are a valuable part of life in our homes. They help to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation in older adults, while supporting children in developing empathy, communication skills, and a sense of community. The benefits are mutual – and often deeply moving.

This new relationship with Flo's Nature Nursery is already bringing a positive impact to both our residents and our young visitors, and we look forward to watching these connections grow in the months ahead.
