Kayleigh has been honoured for her inspiring leadership, the positive working environment she has created and her commitment to delivering outstanding care and support.

Kayleigh Harrop, Service Manager at Aylesbury Supported Living is celebrating a special achievement after being named Outstanding Leader of the Year at The Orders of St John Care Trust’s (OSJCT) Trust Recognition Awards.

The award recognises Kayleigh’s strong leadership in creating a positive environment where colleagues feel supported, inspired and empowered to do their best, while ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care and support.

Great leadership is about more than guiding a team. It is about building trust, bringing people together and creating a culture where colleagues feel valued and motivated, knowing that their work makes a real difference to the lives of the people they support.

Kayleigh’s recognition celebrates the impact of this approach, highlighting the importance of supportive leadership in creating a positive workplace and maintaining high-quality, person-centred care.

Kayleigh said:

“I was not expecting to win this award, because I don’t feel like I do anything different or special. But I believe that being a strong leader isn’t just bout leading others it’s also about having a great team behind you who inspire you daily and motivates you, which I can hand on my heart say I am thankful for with my team at Aylesbury supported living.

I don’t see this award a reflection of me solely as a manager leading a team, it was achieved through teamwork, commitment, and something we have achieved together. I am very fortunate to work alongside a proactive, hardworking, and supportive team that I get to share the same vision with, and that is to deliver the best care possible.

This achievement reminds me that great leaderships always start with a great team, I am very thankful to have won this award and owe a lot of thanks to my team for making it easy to lead.”

Being named Outstanding Leader of the Year is a testament to Kayleigh’s commitment to leading by example and helping those around her thrive, while keeping the needs, dignity and wellbeing of residents at the heart of everything she does.

Her achievement highlights how strong leadership can shape not only a positive working environment, but also the quality of care and the everyday experiences of the people who call an OSJCT home their own.
