The Lakes Care Centre May round up
May has flown by and we’ve enjoyed preparing for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
We’ve been enjoying welcoming back Mindsong, a local music therapy charity. Mindsong sing with our residents’ and help them to evoke memories through music.
We have been working hard on plans for our gardens and we are very grateful to our volunteers who, along with the Trust will be supporting a garden re-vamp over the coming weeks and months.
We are working with Ashton Keynes School, and we are hoping to welcome students from the school soon for regular visits and activities with our residents.
Residents will be celebrating The Queen’s Jubilee; we have a variety of activities including -
Wednesday 1st June – We will welcome Yvette Jaquins for therapeutic Music – Jubilee themed singalong
Thursday 2nd June – We will welcome Mindsong for some music therapy.
Friday 3rd June – We will welcome Brian Slade for singing and dancing and then a garden party with buffet lunch followed by fish and chips for tea.
Saturday 4th June – We will celebrate with a homemade afternoon tea.
Sunday 5th June – Residents will have a special lunch and each household will enjoy a homemade Jubilee cake.
If you’d like your loved one to book in with our hairdresser then do give reception a call – 01285 314141, the hairdresser visits each week. The Nurse Practitioner visits every Monday and the Care Leaders, or your loved ones Key Worker will be in touch if there are any updates.
