Residents and team members from OSJCT The Lakes enjoyed a memorable day out at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, where they joined crowds cheering on an inspirational young fundraiser taking part in a unique giant tortoise race challenge.
The visit became even more special when the event caught the attention of local media. Young fundraiser George Andrews took on the light-hearted challenge of racing one of the Park’s famous giant tortoises while completing a Rubik’s Cube challenge to raise money for the Air Ambulance charity. Visitors, including residents from The Lakes, were delighted to support and encourage him throughout the event.
The outing gave residents the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the wildlife park, home to more than 250 species including giraffes, penguins and the much-loved giant tortoises.
Staff at The Lakes said the visit created plenty of smiles and conversation, with residents especially enjoying being part of such a positive community event that celebrated determination, fundraising and fun. The day also highlighted the importance of meaningful experiences and social outings in bringing people together and creating lasting memories.
