Langford View proudly supporting Launton Ladies FC

We're proud to continue our support of Launton Ladies FC - Rain didn't stop play nor did it dampen spirits as we spent a lovely afternoon cheering Launton on to a 3-0 victory over rivals MK City.

On Sunday 12 April, Langford View care home in Bicester, part of not-for-profit The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT), proudly supported their sponsored team, Launton Ladies FC, with a special afternoon out at the match.
Home Manager Patricia Pita and Activities Coordinator Teeleshwaree Rambaran-Beelur (Nishta), alongside Regional Marketing Manager Helen Dearing, took two residents to enjoy the occasion and cheer the team on. Football-mad Ivor and fellow resident Teresa were delighted to be part of the day, embracing the community spirit and matchday atmosphere.

The excitement began early, especially for Ivor, who is a massive football fan. Despite a 2pm kick-off, he was ready and waiting from 9am, eagerly anticipating the chance to watch live football and support the team. His enthusiasm was infectious and perfectly captured the joy that shared community experiences like this can bring.
Despite the rain, spirits were high as everyone cheered Launton Ladies to a fantastic 3–0 victory. against MK City. Goals from Megan (two) and Lisa secured all three points, confirming Launton Ladies’ position top of the table in the Thames Valley Counties Women Football League Division 3 North. This incredible result means the team will be promoted to Division 2 next season, a huge achievement and a proud moment for players, coaches, supporters and sponsors alike.

A Fantastic Day for Players, Residents and Community

Home Manager Patricia Pita reflected on the day:
“It was such a wonderful afternoon out for our residents. Even with the rain, the smiles said it all. Being part of the community and sharing moments like this really makes a difference. Watching Ivor and Teresa cheering from the sidelines was truly special – it’s a day we’ll all remember.”

Head Coach Claire Finn praised both the team’s performance and the partnership with Langford View:
“The players were outstanding – their effort, teamwork and determination really showed. Having the support of Langford View  means so much to us. Their sponsorship helps us grow as a club, but more importantly, it builds meaningful connections across the community. Seeing residents there supporting the team was incredibly motivating for the players.”

What’s Next for Launton Ladies FC?

While the league season has now come to an end, the excitement continues. Launton Ladies will compete in the League Plate Final on Sunday 10 May at Arbor Park in Slough.

Everyone at Langford View is looking forward to continuing their support and celebrating the team’s success. Rain or shine, this matchday was a perfect example of how football brings people together — making it a truly fantastic day for all involved.
