Langford View supports Three Parishes Community Fridge’s Christmas Hamper drive to help local Bicester families
Langford View team members call for present donations

Residents and employees at Langford View, in Bicester, are proud to be one of the official drop-off locations for the Three Parishes Community Fridge Christmas Hamper drive. The collection aims to support vulnerable families in the Bicester community by providing festive hampers filled with gifts, treats and essential items, ensuring everyone enjoys a joyful and memorable Christmas.
Residents at Langford View are also eager to support families in the local community, many of whom have lived in Bicester their entire lives. Their enthusiasm for helping others reflects the deep sense of community and connection shared by the residents and colleagues at Langford View.
Farida Ait-Tales, Home Manager at Langford View, said: "We are delighted to be part of this initiative. Our residents care deeply about the local community and are excited to contribute to making Christmas brighter for families in need. It’s heart-warming to see everyone come together to spread joy and kindness."
The initiative, which started during the pandemic, is spearheaded by Kerry Mellor, one of the lead organisers of the Three Parishes Community Fridge and a dedicated member of the local school community. Kerry’s passion for helping vulnerable families began when she saw first-hand the challenges many faced during the festive season. Now, five years on, the Three Parishes Community Fridge is supported by 30 volunteers and continues to expand.
"It’s hard work getting everything together," said Kerry Mellor. "But seeing families and children with such big smiles on their faces makes it all worthwhile. Our goal is to give as many people as possible a happier Christmas."
Donations can be dropped off at Langford View until Friday, 20th December. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help bring warmth and happiness to a family this Christmas. The hamper drive’s wish list includes:
- Ladies’ and men’s gift sets
- Children’s toys, arts & crafts
- Board games
- Books
- Selection boxes and chocolates
Last year, the Three Parishes Community Fridge delivered over 350 hampers to families, elderly individuals, and children who might otherwise be alone during the festive season. The impact of these hampers is profound, offering not just gifts, but hope, joy and a sense of community.
