Larkrise carer receives Care Home Worker Award in Oxfordshire Care Awards 2020
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) was delighted to congratulate Geanina (Nina) Bogiu, a carer at OSJCT-run Larkrise Care Centre in Banbury, on receiving the Care Home Worker Award at the Oxfordshire Care Awards 2020 earlier this month.
The annual awards recognise and celebrate individuals, organisations, and companies who have demonstrated excellence within the care sector in Oxfordshire.
Action for Carers Oxfordshire, Age UK Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire Association of Care Providers (OACP) work together on shortlisting and judging winners, bringing together statutory and independent care providers, the voluntary sector and unpaid carers.
The announcement of the winners in each of the 10 awards categories was postponed from March due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but for Nina it was worth the wait. She said: “I’m thrilled to receive this award. I can’t believe it and I’m so happy.”
With many nominees for each award across Oxfordshire, the contest is tight every year but Nina’s recognition as winner has been particularly significant during a challenging year for the care sector.
Larkrise home manager, Lyndsay Sard, said: “I am very honoured to have such a dedicated and compassionate employee as part of my outstanding team at Larkrise. Nina should be so proud of herself and all that she has achieved.”
Patsy Just, OSJCT Regional Director for Oxfordshire added: “The Trust is incredibly proud of Nina’s commitment and sense of duty; she is a true asset both to the home and the wider organisation. We are delighted that she has received the much deserved Care Worker Award from OACP”
Nina and the team at Larkrise look forward to sharing Nina’s success with a well-deserved socially distanced celebration at the home.
