Larkrise Home Manager interviewed on Radio Horton
Home Manager, Lyndsay Sard, was delighted to be given the opportunity recently to speak to Radio Horton about Larkrise Care Centre in Banbury, operated by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT).
Radio Horton broadcasts across Banbury’s Horton General Hospital, bringing a friendly voice to patients. The station provides an array of bespoke programmes comprising music, entertainment and topical discussions, which aim to ease patients’ recovery during their stay at the hospital.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, Radio Horton has been engaging with local care homes in Banbury. They have been broadcasting their special ‘Bring me Sunshine’ programme, which features exercises for body and voice, thought-provoking content, singalongs and voice messages from friends and relatives recorded for their loved ones.
The station also broadcasts a weekly request programme for care homes, when residents can request a song that is special to them to be played on air.
Sam Smette, Radio Horton’s Committee Chair interviewed Lyndsay for a section that will be broadcast on air to the station’s listeners in the coming weeks.
In the interview, Lyndsay explained how Larkrise and other OSJCT homes are reassuring their communities that the homes are safe, fun and vibrant places to live in, as well as how they are providing opportunities for safe, socially-distanced visits and video calls between residents and their loved ones.
