Larkrise rated GOOD in all areas by CQC
The team and residents at Larkrise in Banbury were delighted to receive the results of a recent surprise inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care services in England, which rated the home ‘Good’ in all areas.
Inspectors found that people living at Larkrise receive safe care from skilled and knowledgeable staff and that people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. The report details: “Staff support residents in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service support this practice.”
The report went on to state: “Staff consistency enables people to receive good care from staff who know them well. People have access to activities to prevent social isolation.”
Regarding the management of Larkrise, inspectors found that the home is “well-led” and is “focussed on improving people's care.” The report states: “Staff worked well as a team and complemented each other's skills.”
Commenting on the inspection result, Patsy Just, Assistant Operations Director for OSJCT, said: “The knowledge that our residents and clients are happy and receiving the best possible care with individual needs being met is a testament to the values and ethos of OSJCT and the hard work of our team.”
Home Manager Lyndsay Sard said: “We look forward to enjoying this success; I can honestly say the team really know how to celebrate! We had a five-minute party to take on board the achievement and just relax. We now have our sights set on Outstanding, so watch this space…!”
