Larkrise’s Christmas
Tis the season for joy and laughter, and that is still the case at Larkrise Care Centre in Banbury, despite the Covid-19 restrictions this year.
The halls have been decked throughout the home, with twinkling lights and tinsel abound.
In addition, the home was recently named Oxfordshire regional winner in a Trust-wide Christmas window display competition for its creative and striking Christmas scene silhouettes.
On Christmas jumper day, residents and colleagues alike got into the festive spirit by digging out their most colourful woolly sweaters, and a seasonal raffle and tombola raised £200 for the residents’ amenity fund.
There have been plenty of festive arts and crafts along the way, too: from decorating baubles to making reindeer food, the residents have enjoyed a creative build up to the big day.
The home’s visitor room was opened in December, just in time to enable visits from loved ones over the Christmas period.
Although the celebrations on the day are to be in bubbles and socially-distanced, residents at Larkrise will have no less than a feast on Christmas day, cooked by chef Graham and his kitchen team.
The home wish a very happy Christmas to relatives, friends and the community in Banbury who have all been so incredibly supportive during a challenging year.
Here’s to a bright 2021!
