Residents and teams at Boultham Park House care home in Lincoln, have been celebrating Christmas today (Friday 25 June), six months after the official day when festivities had been scaled back due to COVID-19 restrictions. Excitement has been building all week at the care home, run by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) in the lead up to the big day.

Employees and residents have been preparing for ‘Christmas Day’ by baking mince pies, decorating rooms, putting up a Christmas tree, wrapping presents and singing carols.

Home Manager Joanne Johnson said: “Christmas is such a special time in any care home, and after it was heavily curtailed in December, we were determined to hold another Christmas day in June so that our residents wouldn’t miss out.

“We’ve all had fun decorating the home and contributing to food preparation and today residents will be sitting down to enjoy the delicious food cooked by our chef and the kitchen team. This is a day to have fun and create happy memories. Happy Christmas to all!”
