Local children help Larkrise celebrate Halloween
As well as turning their reception into a spooky witch’s lair complete with a bubbling cauldron and cobwebs, residents at Larkrise Care Home in Banbury have set up trick or treat stations throughout the home so local children can get involved this Halloween.
Residents who want to be involved will place a carved pumpkin outside their room and visiting children can approach with a knock at the door in anticipation of some delicious treats. This will be followed by a Halloween party for everyone in which Larkrise residents and children can try their hand at apple bobbing and a spooky skittles game.
Activities Coordinator Leeanne Herbert said: “We are so excited to see the residents interacting with the children. Halloween is a day that many children look forward to for weeks, and now our residents will too!”
As part of its ongoing aim to provide its residents with the best possible care, the home recognises the importance of providing opportunities for residents to interact with younger generations and look forward to filling the home with children’s laughter at Halloween, with lots of chances for beneficial intergenerational interaction.
