A Love Poem, by our resident Jennifer Rice
This Valentine's Day, we wanted to celebrate 'love' in all it's forms, so we asked our residents to do something they loved this year. One of our residents, Jennifer Rice, adores poetry and wrote this lovely poem which she agreed we could share.
I love;
The soft stars that shine at night,
the silver moon that gleams so bright,
and flocks of birds in soaring flight - the rush of wings a wondrous sight.
The first sweet flowers of early Spring,
the Autumn leaves of red and gold,
the glistening snow in Winter-time, when children play the games of old.
The sound of music,the joy of song,
of painted picture and lovely words,
and laughter, learnt of friends
and quiet peace.
These I have loved - 'til time shall cease.
