Marston Court day Care centre taster week

Marston Court Day Centre is inviting people aged over 65 from across Oxford to discover the activities, companionship and support on offer during its Open Week, running from Monday 2 November to Friday 6 November 2026.

Based on Marston Road in Oxford, the Day Centre is part of Marston Court care home and is now welcoming new day care attendees who would enjoy spending time with others, trying new activities and making friends.

Open on weekdays from 10am to 3pm, the Day Centre offers a varied programme of activities and entertainment, alongside a hot lunch and refreshments. It provides a safe, welcoming and sociable environment for older people, while giving family carers some valuable time to themselves.

During Open Week, visitors can look forward to a packed programme of entertainment and activities. On Monday, the week begins with a giant crossword at 11am, followed by a special visit from Bluey the Rabbit at 2pm.

Tuesday will feature a keep-fit class with Charlotte at 11am and bingo at 2pm, while Wednesday offers a singalong with Amy and Sarah at 11am, followed by board games in the afternoon.

Thursday promises a musical morning with Mr Kev Read singing at 11am, followed by firework-themed arts and crafts at 2pm. The day will finish with a firework party in the garden from 5.30pm, with everyone welcome to join in the celebrations.

The week will conclude on Friday with a visit from Alfie's Sports Club at 11am, followed by coffee and conversations at 2pm – a chance to relax, enjoy a cuppa and get to know other people.

Sharon Fenn, Manager at Marston Court, said: “We are really proud of our Day Centre because it is a chance for people to come together and make friends, try new hobbies and make memories.”

Those who already attend the Day Centre are full of praise for the service. Catherine said: “People are so kind and work hard to make sure people are well catered for. There is a lot of kindness, and excellent food.”

The Open Week is an opportunity for local older people and their families to meet the team, experience the welcoming atmosphere and find out more about joining the Day Care Centre. With new attendees welcome, the team hopes to help more people enjoy the benefits of friendship, companionship and taking part in activities.
