May 2021
May is Local History Month
Residents take part in a variety of activities to celebrate their local history
One of the activities that the residents have been involved in is a living history project around what they would tell their younger selves about a difficult time they have lived through and what advice they would give on how to survive it.
The residents decided to write their messages on cards to be passed on to pupils at a local school.
The messages will be decorated and mounted all together on a canvas collage.
We particularly loved the message;
"Enjoy your school days for they are shorter than you think!"
This week Goodson Lodge also celebrated International Museum Day and Trowbridge Museum reopening this Saturday after an extensive programme of renovation and expansion works.
The residents enjoyed looking at historic pictures of Trowbridge and the local area to see if they recognised any landmarks.
