The Mayor of Aylesbury, Cllr Sherrilyn Bateman joined residents, families, visitors and local carers at Lewin House Care Home for its monthly Carers Café, enjoying a morning of conversation, cake and music.
Lewin House welcomed the Mayor to its latest Carers Café, where she spent time chatting with residents, families and visitors before joining in with a lively singalong activity.
The Carers Café has been launched at Lewin House in partnership with Carers Bucks, creating a welcoming space where carers from the local community can come together, meet others and enjoy some time away from their usual routines.
During the Mayor’s visit, the café was filled with conversation as she took time to meet those attending and hear about their experiences. Residents also enjoyed being part of the gathering, helping to create a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that brought the wider community into the home.
There was plenty of cake and tea to enjoy, but music was also on the menu, with the Mayor joining residents and guests for a singalong.
The regular café is part of Lewin House’s commitment to building strong connections with the local community and ensuring the home is a place where people can come together, not just those who live there.
For residents, the visit provided an opportunity to meet a familiar local figure and share in an activity they could enjoy together.
