The Heights welcomed Mayor Imran Hussain and Councillor Hazel Arthur-Hewitt to its latest Chatty Café, bringing residents, families, colleagues and members of the local community together for an afternoon of conversation, tea and cake.

Held on the last Friday of every month, The Heights’ gathering is part of the national Chatty Café Scheme, which aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation by creating simple, welcoming opportunities for people to connect through conversation. 

Mayor Imran Hussain and Councillor Hazel Arthur-Hewitt spent time meeting residents, families and colleagues, hearing their stories and joining in with the conversations over tea and cake.

The gathering also provided an opportunity to celebrate an important milestone for colleague Merima, as she was presented with a special 25 Years’ Service Award, recognising her commitment and dedication to The Order of St John Care Trust and The Heights and the residents it supports.

The team paid tribute to Merima for her contribution over the years, describing her as someone who has consistently shown up, stepped up and helped make the team stronger.

The afternoon captured the spirit of the Chatty Café Scheme – creating an easy, informal opportunity for people to meet, talk and feel part of their community.

With the Mayor and Councillor Arthur-Hewitt joining residents and families, alongside a special celebration of Merima’s 25 years of service, the latest Chatty Café was a memorable afternoon at The Heights.
