McVities Dessert Competition
Rodley House took on the McVities Dessert Competition and made a delicious custard cream gooey blondie!
The chef at Rodley House tried out many different recipes which the residents enjoyed taste testing before deciding on their entry of custard cream gooey blondie. The blondie was served with vanilla ice cream rolled in custard cream crumb and served with crème anglaise, yum!
The competition was introduced by McVities and Jacob’s creators, pladis, and NAPA (the National Activity Providers Association), the brief was to create a delicious dessert using Tasties teatime biscuits. Rodley House certainly rose to the challenge with their inventive dessert. The winners of the competition will win a lavish afternoon tea worth up to £1,000 for residents and staff.
Gary, one of the residents at Rodley House, was a former chef and he approved the dessert, he said “I absolutely loved it, it tastes just like a custard cream.”
