Meadowcroft officially launched its Chatter & Natter Table as part of the national Chatty Café Scheme. The event was officially opened by Thame Mayor, Cllr Andy Gilbert, on Thursday 5 February.
The morning welcomed a wide cross-section of the local community, including Meadowcroft residents, their families, members of the public, and representatives from the local church. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, filled with companionship, music, and plenty of laughter.
The Chatter & Natter Table reflects the core aim of the Chatty Café Scheme: combatting loneliness and social isolation by encouraging conversation, connection, and friendship in a relaxed setting. Residents and visitors spent time chatting, sharing stories, listening to music, and enjoying delicious cakes together. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they are residents, family members, or members of the local community.
Gail Close, Home Manager at Meadowcroft, said:
"The staff and residents at Meadowcroft were delighted to officially launch our Chatter & Natter Table and are proud to be part of the Chatty Café Scheme. The launch was a wonderful event, bringing together residents, families and members of the local community for a morning filled with conversation, music and plenty of smiles. It was fantastic to see new and familiar faces around the table, and we are really looking forward to continuing to welcome more people into our lovely home each month."
Volunteers worked closely alongside Meadowcroft’s Activities Coordinators to support residents and guests, helping to create an inclusive and friendly environment for everyone.
The Chatter & Natter Table takes place every first Thursday of the month, with the next session being on Thursday 5 March. Everyone is welcome to attend.
