Meet Henry Cornish’s new home manager
Renata Crisostomo joined The Orders of St John Care Trust as Home Manager of Henry Cornish Care Centre in January 2021. We asked her to tell us all about herself, and she invites anyone who would like to know more to join her for a virtual ‘Meet the Manager’ drop in event on 17 June.
What care-related qualifications do you hold?
I am a registered nurse and I hold a Level 5 in Care Leadership and Management.
After training as a nurse and completing my degree, I had thought that I would mainly work in a hospital setting, but after six years in the care sector, I enjoy the work so much.
What does a day at work look like for you?
Typically, I begin my day by walking around the home, making notes and chatting with the residents. I meet with the heads of departments daily to discuss the day ahead and highlight any priorities or appointments.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
I especially enjoy supporting the residents and contributing to their happier and brighter days. I love my job and the team are all amazing. As a manager I want to make sure they know.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am learning to knit, and I enjoy reading a good book. I also love watching Bake Off and trying to improve my baking skills!
How can we find out more?
Join me virtually for a cup of tea over an online drop in Meet the Manager session on 17 June, 10.30-11.30am. Click here to find out more and how to receive a link to join the event.
You are welcome to stay online for as much of the session as you like and please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about my role as Home Manager at Henry Cornish Care Centre, or the care we offer to our residents. I look forward to meeting you online!
