Mulberry Court hosts Carers Café with special visit from Chalfont St Peter Parish Chair
Residents, team members and special guests gathered at Mulberry Court in Chalfont St Peter, to celebrate the official launch of the home’s new Carers Café.
The event marked the beginning of a new monthly initiative designed to bring carers, families and the wider community together in a welcoming and supportive space. The launch was attended by Anna Marie Vladar, Chairman of Chalfont St Peter Parish Council, and Carolyn Fenton, Parish Councillor, alongside Ash Khan from Carers Bucks, whose partnership is helping to strengthen support for unpaid carers across the county.
The morning was filled with creativity and conversation. Residents took part in an art session inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s well-known sunflower painting, producing vibrant and expressive artwork of their own. The activity sparked discussion about favourite artists and past creative hobbies, while offering a relaxed opportunity for guests to spend time together.
Alongside the art session, a lively and competitive round of dominoes brought plenty of laughter and friendly rivalry. Guests enjoyed freshly made Victoria sponge cake and tea, creating a traditional café atmosphere that encouraged people to sit, talk and connect.
The Carers Café has been created to provide a regular opportunity for carers to meet others who understand their experiences, while also building a strong sense of community within the home.
Resident at Mulberry Court, Lorna said:
“It was such a lovely afternoon. I really enjoyed the painting and having everyone together. The cake was delicious too.”
Emma Cole, Home Manager at Mulberry Court, added:
“We are proud to launch our Carers Café and to welcome members of our local community to Mulberry Court. Supporting carers is an important part of what we do. This café provides a space where families can feel connected, share experiences and enjoy time together in a relaxed and friendly environment. It was wonderful to see residents and guests enjoying the activities and building new connections.”
Mulberry Court’s Carers Café will now take place on the last Thursday of every month from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, continuing the home’s commitment to supporting carers and strengthening community connections.
