Residents at OSJCT's Ashwood Care Centre enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of creativity, conversation and connection as pupils from Warminster School joined them for a special World Cup-themed activity session.
Together, residents and students created colourful flags representing countries and teams taking part in the Football World Cup, sparking conversations about favourite teams, memorable matches and shared sporting experiences from across the generations.
The visit formed part of Ashwood Care Centre's ongoing commitment to strengthening intergenerational relationships, bringing young people and older adults together through meaningful activities that promote learning, friendship and community connection.
The atmosphere was filled with laughter, storytelling and teamwork as residents and pupils worked side by side, showcasing the positive impact these shared experiences can have on wellbeing and social connection.
Intergenerational activities are an important part of life at Ashwood Care Centre, helping to reduce social isolation, build confidence and create opportunities for residents to share their knowledge, memories and life experiences with younger generations.

It was wonderful to welcome students from Warminster School into our home. Activities like these create genuine connections and bring so much joy to everyone involved. Watching residents and young people work together, chat and learn from one another is incredibly special and demonstrates the power of community and intergenerational relationships.
