OSJCT Athelstan House team takes on Cotswolds ultra challenge for Dementia UK

Colleagues from OSJCT's Athelstan House Care Centre are putting their best foot forward this weekend as they take on the demanding Cotswolds Ultra Challenge, walking an impressive 25 kilometres to raise funds for Dementia UK.

The team, aptly named "Are We There Yet?", has already achieved a remarkable fundraising milestone, raising £2,592 thanks to the generosity and support of family, friends, residents, relatives, colleagues, and members of the local community.

The challenge is more than just a physical test. Every step taken will help support Dementia UK's specialist Admiral Nurses, who provide expert advice and practical support to families affected by dementia.

Dean Palfrey, Home Manager said:

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far. Thanks to your generosity, we've raised a fantastic £2,592 for this amazing cause. We're sure the question 'Are we there yet?' will be heard many times along the route, but knowing we're walking to support families living with dementia will keep us motivated every step of the way.

The team hopes their efforts will help raise awareness of the challenges faced by people living with dementia and their loved ones, while also generating vital funds for the specialist services provided by Dementia UK.

Everyone at Athelstan House would like to thank those who have donated, offered encouragement, and cheered the team on in their fundraising journey.

There is still time to support the challenge and help make a difference. Donations can be made via the team's fundraising page:
