OSJCT Banbury care homes perform strongly in national care survey
Residents at Larkrise Care Centre in Banbury and Lake House Care Home in Adderbury responded to a nationwide care survey to say they feel safe and secure at the homes.
The results of the Your Care Rating survey of care home residents, their family members and friends were published recently.
Now in its eighth year, the Your Care Rating survey is the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents and their families and friends. The nationwide survey gives respondents a voice, putting their opinions at the heart of understanding more about how well care homes are performing. Over 11,800 residents in 362 care homes across the UK responded to the survey which was carried out in autumn 2019.
Survey respondents were asked to rate their homes on four themes: Staff and Care, Home Comforts, Choice and Having a Say, and Quality of Life.
As well as 100% of resident respondents in each home saying they feel safe and secure, both Larkrise and Lake House achieved a near perfect score on Quality of Life questions, achieving 931 and 934 out of 1000, respectively.
Residents also rated the home highly on Staff and Care questions, with respondents saying they feel they are treated with treated with kindness, dignity and respect, and that staff respect their privacy.
This year’s results for every care home surveyed are displayed on the Your Care Rating website (www.yourcarerating.org). The survey was compiled by leading research company Ipsos MORI with input from participating care home operators, together with the National Care Forum and Care England. The survey is the most authoritative of its type, and is also the country’s largest, capturing more views of residents than any other.
