Bemerton Lodge Celebrates Former Student Placement

OSJCT Bemerton Lodge is proud to celebrate the achievements of Eryn Blackman, a former student placement who spent time at the home gaining valuable work experience in nursing. Eryn, who undertook her placement through Andover College, will begin her nursing studies at university this September.

During her placement, Eryn not only developed essential skills in care and patient support but also formed a meaningful friendship with one of the home’s residents. Even after completing her placement, Eryn continues to visit Bemerton Lodge, demonstrating the strong connections that can develop between residents and young people exploring careers in care.

“We are delighted to see Eryn taking the next step in her journey to become a nurse”

Said Rebecca Kilgour, Manager at Bemerton Lodge.

“Her time with us not only helped her gain hands-on experience in a care environment but also showed the mutual benefits of intergenerational relationships. Residents loved having her around, and the friendships she has formed will last a lifetime.”

OSJCT Bemerton Lodge takes pride in supporting local students and helping them gain practical experience in nursing and care, highlighting the home’s commitment to fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals.
