South Oxfordshire homes and schemes are hosting a free Care Fair in Didcot on 14 April, offering expert advice, dementia guidance, and local care support. Open to all, helping families explore care options with confidence.
South Oxfordshire based care homes and Extra Care Housing schemes from The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) are inviting local residents to a free Care Fair in Didcot, bringing together trusted care experts, advisers, and community organisations to offer guidance, reassurance, and practical support.
Taking place at the Didcot Civic Hall, the Care Fair is open to everyone, wherever they may be on their care journey. Families and individuals will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore care options, and access expert advice about the wide range of support available across Oxfordshire.
Visitors will be able to meet teams from OSJCT care homes, including The Meadows in Didcot, Stirlings in Wantage, Westgate House in Wallingford, and Old Station House in Abingdon, as well as representatives from the Trust’s extra care housing scheme, Mayott House.
The Care Fair is designed as a welcoming and informative space where local people can speak directly with experienced professionals, gain clarity around care options, and feel more confident about planning for the future. Alongside OSJCT colleagues, attendees will also be able to connect with a broad range of community partners, all focused on supporting older people and those who care for them.
Partner organisations attending the event include Home Instead, Bluebird Care, Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA), Dementia Oxfordshire, Age UK Oxfordshire, Dementia Active, and Carers Oxfordshire. Together, they will provide information, resources, and signposting to help families access the right support at the right time.
Tobias Matonhodze, Home Manager at The Meadows, said:
“Our Care Fair is about bringing people together and making it easier for families to find the right information and support. By working closely with our partners, we can offer clear, trusted guidance and help people feel more confident about their care choices. We’re really looking forward to welcoming the local community and having open, supportive conversations.”
By hosting the Care Fair, OSJCT and its partners aim to strengthen local connections, highlight the value of collaboration in care, and ensure people across South Oxfordshire feel supported, informed, and empowered.
