We are delighted to welcome Emma Fielder as the new Home Manager at The Heights care home in Downley, High Wycombe.
The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) is pleased to introduce Emma to the team, bringing over two decades of experience in health and social care, along with a deep commitment to compassionate, person-centred support.
Emma began her career in health and social care in 2002 in her hometown of North Wales, working as a Care Assistant. It was during this time that she discovered a passion for supporting others and making a difference in people’s lives. In 2007, Emma qualified as a Registered Nurse, earning a BSc (Hons) in Nursing, and later went on to complete a master’s degree in management in 2015.
Over the years, Emma has worked across nursing and dementia care environments, developing extensive clinical knowledge alongside strong leadership experience. Her approach to care is grounded in compassion and respect, recognising the privilege of being part of residents’ lives and supporting them to feel safe, valued and at home.
Reflecting on her journey into the care sector, Emma said:
For me, nursing wasn’t just a career choice; it felt like a calling. One morning, I woke up and said to myself, ‘I want to be a nurse.’ My late grandmother, who was a retired Night Sister, inspired me to take that step. Her dedication and passion for delivering high-quality care have always motivated me throughout my career.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly walking in the countryside and exploring new places with family. Gardening is another passion and takes great pride in a garden filled with colourful flowers and a large grapevine.
Speaking about her new role, Emma said:
I’m genuinely excited to be part of The Heights team. We have a real ‘home from home’ approach to care, which creates such a warm and welcoming environment for residents. Even though we’re a large team, we’ve built a strong sense of family, and every day feels different and fulfilling. “Our wellbeing programme is full and varied, involving residents in meaningful activities and keeping them connected with the local community. It’s the little things, seeing residents smile, watching the team make a real difference, and sharing moments of joy together — that make me so proud to lead here at The Heights.
Emma’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for The Heights, as the home continues its commitment to providing high-quality care while maintaining a warm, supportive environment for residents, families and colleagues.
