Residents at Edwardstow Court in Stow-on-the-Wold have been enjoying the fruits or perhaps vegetables of their labour as they harvest a colourful crop of homegrown tomatoes from the home’s garden.
Throughout the summer, and for Trust in Bloom, green-fingered residents have helped to nurture and care for the tomato plants, watching them grow from small seedlings into plants laden with fresh produce.
As the outdoor growing season draws to a close, residents have been busy picking the ripe tomatoes and enjoying the satisfaction that comes from growing something themselves.
Gardening is a popular activity at Edwardstow Court, offering residents opportunities to spend time outdoors, stay active and connect with nature. Growing fruit, vegetables and herbs also creates plenty of conversation, from sharing gardening tips to remembering gardens and allotments tended over the years.
The harvest is also a wonderful reminder of the journey from pasture to plate and the simple pleasure of enjoying fresh, seasonal produce grown just a few steps from home.
