The OSJCT's Private Collection homes have been extra busy during Trust in Bloom, it was far more than beautiful gardens. It was about creating meaningful experiences, embracing sustainability, and celebrating the incredible journey from Pasture to Plate.

Residents, colleagues, families and volunteers came together to grow fresh herbs, vegetables and edible flowers, nurturing them from seed to harvest before transforming them into delicious, home-cooked meals. Every ingredient tells a story of teamwork, wellbeing and connection.

Whether it was tomatoes picked that morning, fragrant herbs gathered from the garden, or freshly harvested vegetables becoming the centrepiece of lunch, our chefs are creating dishes that are as nutritious as they are full of flavour.

The initiative brought countless benefits beyond the plate. Gardening encourages gentle physical activity, sparks conversations, evokes cherished memories, supports biodiversity and provides a wonderful sense of purpose. Residents play an active role in planting, tending and harvesting, knowing that their efforts will be enjoyed by everyone around the table.

Sustainability sits at the heart of the project.

By growing more of our own produce, reducing food miles and making the most of seasonal ingredients, we're helping care for both people and the planet while inspiring future generations to value where food comes from.

At our Private Collection homes, Pasture to Plate is redefining dining in care. It's fresh, local, sustainable and, above all, inclusive. Because when everyone has the opportunity to plant, nurture, harvest and share a meal together, food becomes so much more than nourishment, it becomes community.

Growing together. Harvesting together. Dining together.

The true spirit of Trust in Bloom.
